I turned on Hearts of Space at 1AM and passed out. I had brief bouts of waking, one from the neighbor dog barking and one from a truck, or something, rattling an art piece hanging on the wall in the room. I got up at 7 to pee and laid back down. And I was so hungry. One of Lisa's kitties came to visit and then I chatted with the Kev before finally getting up and dressed. I went down to the kitchen, got bacon in the oven and proceeded to burn the batch slap up. Wasted SIX slices of bacon goodness, I was so sad. But in went another batch, finishing the package up and it came out great. I fixed up some scrambled eggs to go with it and after breakfast we both sat on the couch and worked for a while.
Lucy's on the Lake Lunch
I changed and Lisa drove me to my dear friend Jason's house where he was finishing up a conference call. He was done around 1:30 and we went to Lucy's Fried Chicken on Lake Travis. We started with the deep fried deviled eggs and yes I peeled all fried breading off. I had the cauli salad for entree and it was not at all like I had envisioned. it was a meh salad with a big hunk of cauli that had been roasted and still a bit hard, with no seasoning. The dressing wasn't flavorful and the roasted chicken has no flavor, so all in all mostly bland. I gave Jason the majority of the cauli and picked some chicken out but didn't get full. But then again chicken never sustains me.
We got back to Jason's around 3:30 and the kids had gotten in from school. I visited with Jamie's mom, who I haven't seen in years, and Jamie made it home around 4:30. And then hunger hit like a brick. I got that sick feeling and had to have something. I was going to have an Atkins snack bar but Jason had an Atkin's chocolate drink, which I'd never seen before and wanted to try. The drink had 2g of carbs in it and kept me mostly satisfied until dinner.
Burger Patty with Cheddar and Bacon
I went with Jason to his 10 year old son's basketball practice at 6PM. I chatted with J and one of the other boy' s Moms and we were done and gone at 7. It had started to rain/drizzle so we hurried to the Jeep. We met Jamie and their 8 year old son at The Grove for some dinner. I opted for the Steakhouse burger with cheddar and bacon. I got a side salad with it but it wasn't super tasty so I only had a few bites of it. It did the trick and it was so nice chatting and catching up with Jason and Jamie. Jason dropped me off at Lisa's around 9:45. I had that Atkin's Caramel Nut Chew snack bar and then at 11 I was hungry. I had a slice of salami and Colby jack before bed.
